The Beautiful Kolachi Kambla Estuary and Beach - Mulky

Most Beautiful Estuary and Beach in Mangalore
The Sunday before last, we went biking in a beautiful place called Kolachi Kambla Beach, near Mulki. The idea was to visit Sunil house on the mean time to visit Kolachi Kambla beach. We 5 bikers had an appetizing food in Sunil house and after the coffee we headed to our projected place.  Sunil also joined us and without much trouble we reached another side of the Shambhavi River.
We decided to go estuary so after 20 minutes drive through Hejamadi we reached almost end of the small Jetty. Later crossed huge sand mound and after a 30 minutes beach walk it’s laid to the beautiful clean estuary. It’s a long stretch of white sand and shrubbery forest just in front of ocean and another side Shambhavi River; it's not uncommon to find just a handful of people on the entire beach walk. There is nobody else on the beach other than the occasional local fishing for food for his family.
Kolachi Kambla Estuary on Stormy Day
This serene river meanders through Palm fringed lands and dense shrubbery groves before merging into the Arabian Sea and one more rivers called Nandini which flows from another side of the Munda Island. The Shambhavi River flows from west and Nandhini River from east side and both merge near to estuary and later both joins together to Arabian Sea.
Unfortunately, the weather in this lush green land was anything in Monsoon the black clouds and dense rain most of the time. I see tons of pretty purple and orange Jingles in different sizes end of the beach. This is what I love to see on the beach! Lots of baby Pen Shells, Horse Conchs, Pear Whelk, Auger, and Jingles, I collected some beautiful whelk shells & seashells. We spotted some huge crabs near estuary.
Collecting seashells is a fun pastime that enriches our appreciation of the marine habitats and coastal areas that border in the waters of the Estuary. Seashells are gems from the sea and they come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors that inspire our imagination and sense of wonder. The variation in their designs and color patterns is astonishing and helps us to more fully appreciate the wonders of the natural world around us.
The Evening Beach views are worth lingering over. After combing, walking and shelling on this gorgeous beach we head back to home. We had such a great time would really love to go back next time.

Thats a beautiful place. You seem to have a love of beaches. And what lovely photographs. I always find it funny that a crab's eyes are on two stick like things on its head and at the same time I find it wonderful. How might it be working?I love shell collecting on the beaches. It is my fav past time besides actually playing in water. I love collecting beautiful stones too.
